Autumn Equinox Event

The Autumn Equinox is the time of equal day and night that marks the passing into the dark time of year.

It is a time to pay homage to the Sun and Solar Gods, such as Mabon and Michael, as their time is passing but we seek their inspiration and light as we move into the dark.

It is a time to give thanks for the bounty of the Earth and its fertility as the last of the summer harvests are completed, autumn apples and grapes ripen, winter food plants are going into the ground and fields are strengthened for the next spring growing season.

In this moment we remember and honour the awesome power of nature to renew itself.

At this moment as the Sun enters topical Libra and rises due east and sets due west, it is a natural moment for gratitude and give time to marvel at the time of deepest ripening. It is time to begin to seek protection as autumn is too a sign of winter’s chill.

Agents of Magick want to celebrate this special date with you, so we have prepared an event to connect with this moment we are living. For the occasion, we will gather in a very special place:

The Museum of Magic, Fortune-telling and Witchcraft of Edinburgh.

2 Chalmers Close, High Street, EH1 1SS, Edinburgh

We will explore the folklore of the Autumn Equinox, Mabon, share songs and visions of celebration. This is also a live rite, interactive, where all the participants will be collaborating it as part of the ritual alongside the conductor of the event:

J D Kelley

Sunay Aquarius

We are going to be exploring how the changes in the world are changing the Wheel of the Year and how this affects the seasons.

You are welcome to bring any beverage with you to join in our celebration.
After the event Tarot readings and other methods of divination will be offered.

It is a small space, so it is advisable to buy a ticket in advance if you want to secure your place, if you pre-book the price is £7, on the day of the event it will be £10.

The ticket can also be bought in person at the museum the days before the event.

The event will start at 7’30 PM on the 16th of September, we look forward to seeing you.
